2nd Corinthians 8:7
But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete
earnestness and in your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

The Bible teaches more about the issue of money than it does about many other
topics. Having a healthy understanding of and relationship to money is
important in walking the path of the Christian life. It is a proper
response to what God has done, not a way to win God’s favor. For
followers of Jesus giving away 10% of our resources has served as
a healthy measurement of our financial life.

While this number is not set in stone, and some may choose to give
more, we believe the giving away of 10% of what we have control over
has served as a startingpoint for followers of Jesus, taught in the Bible and
practiced by Christians throughout history. We believe that as people who
are followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to a life of ever-increasing
simplicity and generosity.
